Chemnitz is a small town located in the federal state of Saxony in Eastern Germany. The authorities of this city decided to create a quite interesting and effective transit system, which, in addition to the municipal bus network, includes some tram lines, as well as five suburban lines, three of which were electrified. The commuter network named City-Bahn Chemnitz (Chemnitz City Rail) was established in 1997 and uses both tram and heavy rail track infrastructure. On the web, I found several route maps of the Chemnitz City Rail, but they all repeat the geographical curves of the lines, which makes the information less readable, so I decided to offer more compact version.
