Let’s get acquainted!

Just imagine you are planning the trip and you decided to stay in a hotel somewhere far away from your lovely home in the town you never been before. So now you have got the confirmation of your reservation and the next step is to search how to get from the airport to the place you are going to stay. After the ages of searching in widely spread web resources, the only result you have got is very poor, misleading, badly designed, out of date or even no information about the local municipal transportation. Have you ever went through it? Yes? – Me either!

Being a graphic designer and after plenty of similar situations, I decided to make my first transportation network map. It was, oh, almost eight years ago and the first target was the Georgian Railways with its weak branding level, especially what about of convenient railway route maps and easy-understandable traffic information for customers. No, no, I love Georgian Railways and my target is everything but the critic of their work! I just wish to mention the first strong trigger which forced me to start the new hobby.

Well, I’m glad to present you this new website where I will upload my works – the maps of transportation systems (preferably rail or light rail networks) of different cities, regions or even whole countries, especially where, in my humble opinion, something is missing or can be done better. You will be able to download my maps for free to your mobile device and use for your personal needs offline. For commercial use, I kindly ask you to contact me – I am sure we will find the right way. Or maybe your company need the perfectly designed network map?

Besides the real transportation schemes, which I will try to update on time, I am going to acquaint you with my ideas on how public transport in various places of the world can be turned into convenient and more efficient ones, as well as to tell you about abandoned, defunct systems.

And in conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to my friend Khareba, who have kindly created this website for me, to all who supported my ideas with good advice and constructive critics, to all members of my trusted jury board, as well as to all who will help me in the future.

Truly yours, Alex.
